HOW DO I CANCEL MY PERMANENT VOTE BY MAIL STATUS?

Using the Permanent Vote By Mail Lookup, type your first name, last name, birth date, and zip code.  If you are an active registered voter, it will take you to a page with your election information. Click Permanent Vote By Mail Request along the gray side panel for a form to opt out of Permanent Vote By Mail Status.

WHEN IS THE LAST DAY TO CANCEL MY PERMANENT VOTE BY MAIL STATUS?
Once you apply for Permanent Vote By Mail Status prior to an election, you must wait until after that election to cancel your status. However, you may still contact our office if you made a mistake on your ballot or if you decide you would rather cast a ballot for a different political party in a Primary Election.

I REQUESTED A BALLOT FROM ONE POLITICAL PARTY, BUT I WANT TO MAKE A CHANGE. WHAT DO I DO?
Using the Permanent Vote By Mail Lookup, fill out your first name, last name, birth date, and zip code.  If you are an active registered voter, it will take you to a page with your election information.  Along the gray side panel, there will be a blue button, under Voter Links, which reads Permanent Vote By Mail Request.  Click on this button and it will take you to a form that allows you to update your party ballot.

 

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO CHOOSE A NON-PARTISAN BALLOT?
If you choose a Non-Partisan Ballot in a Primary Election, you will only receive a ballot if a referendum has been filed for a district in which you are allowed to vote. Only the referendum will be on your ballot, no candidates. If there is no referendum, you will not receive a Primary Ballot.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY PERMANENT VOTE BY MAIL STATUS IF I MOVE?
If you move within Will County, your ballot will be mailed to your new registration address once our Voter Registration Department receives information on your change of address. If you move outside of Will County, you will be removed from this status once our Voter Registration Department receives information on your change of address. For questions about your voting status or how to update your address, contact our voter registration department by clicking here.

HOW DO I UPDATE MY MAILING ADDRESS FOR JUST THIS ELECTION?If you already registered for Permanent Vote By Mail Status, you should mail a single Vote By Mail Application with your temporary mailing address for the upcoming election.
